Shinrin Yoku, what is it?
Bathe in sensory impressions in nature.
Give yourself the time and experience to land, get to know nature and replenish with new energy. Nature is a fantastic resource for recovery and recreation. I guide you, nature does the rest!
This is how it works
We gather in a small group at an agreed place. I make an introduction and we introduce ourselves to each other. Then we go on a hike that can vary between 1.5 - 3 km.
We walk a distance and then stop to reflect or do some exercise. The pass used to take approx. 1.5 - 2 hours and we end together with a little reflection and feedback.
Nature needs you and that you show it your care.
In nature, you can feel that you are part of something bigger,
It´s not about me as a person, it is an unpretentious place where no one demands your performance, your efficiency or your appearance. You are good just the way you are!
Nature is the prerequisite for our life, we must nurture it with love and respect. A forest is not just trees but a multitude of organisms and individuals that live together in a system where everyone needs each other. The forest gives us a sense of context and can become a place for balance, security and stability.
Health effects
Today, the impact of nature on our health is a well-researched area throughout the world. The positive effects include:
Reduced stress, contact with nature lowers blood pressure and stress hormone levels.
Better ability to concentrate. We think more clearly after a nature stay, it applies to people of all ages.
We get more creative. The stay in nature provides effective recovery for the brain. When the brain is given the opportunity to rest, space is created for new thoughts and ideas. It will be easier to solve problems.
We will be happier! A nature stay reduces anxiety and negative thoughts.
We get less sick, maybe even live longer. Less stress and increased physical activity improve health and reduce the risk of disease. We feel good from daylight and sunlight.
We are many nature lovers and everyone has their own way of approaching nature. To get more out of the experience, it can be good to treat yourself to a guided hike. If we are to name what we see, hear, smell, feel and take in, our experience, we can call it forest bath, shirin-yoku, forest mindfulness or something else.
My name is Caroline Brun!
I was born and raised in the country where a life close to nature was a matter of course. Following the seasons with plants, animals and various activities has laid the foundation in my life. I have spent most of my life working with general education where I have met a lot of nice people. I have also worked with tourism in various forms, everything from bus guide, city guide, tourist agency employee, experience guide to self-employed. I have educations from universities, folk high schools and other actors. In recent years, I have focused on walks on the theme of health, culture or local history.
Welcome to book your forest bath!
